Confidence

Confidence, confidence, wherefore art thou, confidence?

Confidence... where do we get it from? How do we gain confidence? How come some people are more confident than others? Is there any hope in my gaining confidence?

Yes.

Confidence is a very interesting topic. You see, some people are BORN confident!

I... on the other hand, wasn't so 'fortunate.' hehehehe.

Growing up, I've always been pretty... no VERY shy. I stuck to myself. I was a creative child so maybe I'd draw and write in my free time, but whenever I was around people, I closed up like clam shell.

I didn't know the first thing about confidence! And it didn't feel very good. In person I'd say one thing, but by myself I'd wish I said something different. I'd wish I was more open, more honest, more loving, more genuine.

For the longest time I've struggled in learning about how to be confident. Moving to Hawaii from Davis, I had learned how to open up A LOT... and it seemed to come to me naturally as a result of constant practice.. constantly putting myself out there to express my true nature.

But then coming home, I lost that confidence. Again. I was in a new environment, a foreign one that what I have been used to and I didn't readily put myself out there to talk with people who are especially of a notable ranks; pastors, teachers, politicians, doctors etc etc. Even if I had something to say, I'd hesitate greatly and wonder if what I had to say was truly important.

Until, at my home church, I learned something about confidence.

Confidence comes as a result of an innate knowing. An inner awareness. It comes as a result of constantly being in contact or connection with your inner being and this must be a STRONG connection a.k.a. awareness of your inner being.

Your inner being, your Spirit, is where Truth is. If you are not in contact with this aspect of your being you will doubt yourself. You will be swayed by your fleeting thoughts that contradict themselves and thus leave you confused, hesistant, unsure, anxious.

True confidence comes of knowing your inner Self, your Higher Self, that is. This is your true Self. There is no other true Self outside of this. Ego is not yourself. It is the fleeting thoughts you sometimes associate with and attempt to call yourself. "I'm Bob. I'm a lawyer. I'm a father. I'm this or that." These are thoughts, not fact.

The fact is that you are an eternal spiritual being. This is your true Self. It is also known as the Higher Self. Your Higher Self can only be known from within. When you know this, when you connect with It and become One with it, you are free and you are confident.

Your Higher Self is the source of all wisdom, all guidance, all Truth.

When you tap into it, confidence will no longer be an issue. You will no longer be lost. You will no longer worry whether or not you should say something or not. You will no longer be hesistant about talking to certain people as Spirit leads you to.

The reason is because as you tap into your Higher Self (your inner awareness), 'you,' the seperate self based in ego, no longer becomes the one acting. It is your Higher Self which works through you that acts. You and your Higher Self have become One. And when you have become One with your Higher Self, you will no longer experience resistence in what your inner guidance system leads you to do. You will be live a smooth and effortless life. All people will be looked at as an extension of your Self, and you will naturally treat them all equally, with love, as if they are all family.

So, confidence is byproduct of inner awareness. When you are at One with your True Self being confident comes naturally.

~Namaste~

The Power of Asking

If you take a look around you, at the people in your society, you will find some people who are 'livin' it up!' They're happy! They're always doing something new or creative! They're fulfilled! While others aren't so 'lucky.' The 'others,' which are actually a majority of folks out there, are instead 'going with the flow (the system).' They never really get farther than they where they are already. The rejoice in littleness (a house, a good paying job, kids, a yacht, a 401K and a Social Security check for all their hard work.)

There's nothing wrong with that. It's just ...common. If that's what you want, go for it! There will be no one to stop you, because most of everyone else is doing the EXACT SAME THING! hahahaha

People who want to go farther than what is common, on the otherhand, are the curious people. They are the one's always asking questions. They ask questions that will take them from where they are right now to where they want to be. And they are as open as a clear blue sky on a sunny day to recieve the answers to their questions.

They never stop asking questions, because they know that this universe is infinite.

Einstein is a fine example of a person who never lost his curiosity in life. Many people say he was a genius. I say he was a curious person. He posed interesting questions for the universe and faithfully believed that the universe would conspire to answer his questions. And it did. It always did. As long as he was open to recieve the answers.

We say things like, "How am I supposed to know? Im not Einstein!" This simply means that we are no curious enough to ask question and seek out the answers to our questions.

Imagine how differently life would be if we simply asked more questions and then faithfully waited for the answers with an open heart!

I know there was a Black slave by the name of Fredrick Douglass who, during the 1800s, always had a curious mind.

Slavery and society are synanymous terms. Both arise from allowing OTHER people to think for you, tell you what to do, and how to live your life.

From a young age, Fredrick Douglass asked questions about life and slavery while he was a slave. Faithfully, he believed that he would recieve the answers to these questions. And as a result, he did!

He asked many questions in regards to slavery: "What is it? What does it mean? Am I supposed to be a slave? is this what God wants? Must I be a slave forever? Can I be free? How do I get freedom? What must I do to be free?"

Each and everyone of his questions were answered as he asked them. But it wasn't until he asked, "How can I be free?" that he was able to escape the bounds of slavery and finally be a free man!

You see, many of us ask questions, but we don't ask the 'right' questions, the questions pertinent to what we TRULY want... what we truly desire.

We ask, "Why does he act that way?" instead of "How can I be at peace with him?"

Or, "How come this neighborhood so bad?" instead of "How can I get to where I truly want to be?"

And also, "Why is my life so bad?" instead of "How can I live a prosperous and successful life? How can I be happy?"

Life requires that we ask the right questions to get what we truly desire. When we ask the right questions, and are OPEN to recieve answers (being open is KEY), there is NOTHING we cannot achieve!

So I want to encourage you to ask questions! Be open to recieve the answers!

And watch the wonders of you life unfold!

God Given Gifts (Talents)

Chocolate High feat Musiq Soulchild - India.Arie

Many, many, many, MANY people in this world live life and die NEVER to accomplish or even KNOW what their God-given gifts may be.

They look at other people who KNOW their gifts and live it to the fullest in envy, saying to themselves, "I wish I had a gift. A talent.. But I have nothing. So I have to work this God-forsaken job!" hahahaha

That's so miserable! But it doesnt have to be that way!

What most people don't know is that they have access to their gifts, to knowing them... if they would only do ONE simply thing: Ask.

Ask God what your gift is. Aha! Now THAT'S simple isn't it? It's MEANT to be!

God is waiting on His TOES for you to ask Him what your gift is! Your purpose! Your life goal!

I did.

Sure, I, many other people, have many talents. I can draw, animate, paint, make interesting music, talk (hehe), dance, sing, act... I do many things!

I've done all of these things, including writing for the longest time! But it's always been a mystery to me as to what my God-given gift was. All of these gifts I've done half-heartedly, never fully endeavoring in ANY of them.

Until I asked God one day. "God, what is my gift? What is my Soul Purpose? What is my passion... something I do automatically without thinking about it?"

And the moment I asked this question, a love-filled thought jumped into my heart chakra and suddenly I was aware, "WRITING!"

People had told for the longest "You should write a book!" haha. But, I couldn't recieve it as the answer to question I had never asked before. You see, I never asked the question!

So my gift has always been there! And my answer had always been there! But what God was waiting for was my question and my OPENNESS (this is KEY) to recieve the answer! It was not until I asked the question that the answer was able to come into my awareness. On top of that, it was not until I was open to recieve the answer without my ideas of what my gift should be, that I was able to RECIEVE it!!

So, brothers and sisters, ask God what your gift is! Then faithfully, openly and wholeheartedly be patient to hear His answer. He WILL respond to you! But it depends ENTIRELY on your OPENENESS~~!!

Ask God. Be open!

Then you, too, at whatever age you may be, will experience the infinite love of God through the creativity that you have allowed Him to unleash in your own heart~. Amen~.

Sigur Ros

Uplift your mood.

Raise your consciousness.

Raise your vibrations with Sigur Ros.

Hearing God's Voice: Channelling

Many people hear God's voice through an audible sound, at the same token, many do not. But, they hear him in other ways. One of those ways include an 'impression' or a 'loving feeling' in the heart area (chakra) that seeks to be expressed through you own thoughts or mouth, instead of a a seperate voice. Such is the way, I, personally, hear from God all the time (as long as I am open to hear it).

Allowing God to speak through you takes absolute faith and pure focus on the 'loving vibration' of God. This can be called the process of 'channeling (God).' This is how I write for you, and this is how I get my own spiritual advice and insight in my everyday life.

Many people can 'think' they heard from God (i.e. false prophets/pyschics) but actually would actually be hearing their OWN thoughts or thoughts out of alignment with the Spirit of God. This is why it is important to stay in constant prayer, study and in the counsel of other Godly people to be SURE you heard from God.

It is important to know the gravity of the 3 things I have listed above that reinforce your closeness to God. So I will take time to explain each of the 3 practices for your own personal growth and benefit. May it be of great help to you in ALL areas of your life.

Prayer

Constant prayer is a powerful force that draws you close to God and God close to you. The more you pray, especially on the daily basis, the more effective your prayer is. A person who has prayed consistently for 10 days has a more effective prayer life than someone who is praying for the first time today. Imagine the effectiveness of a person who prays everyday, yearly! Powerful.

Study

The study of God is VERY important (after prayer) because your studies REMIND you of the reasons WHY you are worthy of God answering your prayers. I stay in constant study of God because I know my mind is restless. That is the nature of all minds.

The useful thoughts come from a higher source: God. But the useless thoughts come from the 'devil' or ego whih keeps your mind busy with pointless ideas and fears. To the untrained mind, it is difficult to sift our minds of the True Thoughts fro mthe pointless ones. That is where study comes in.

Study REMINDS you of these true thoughts that rang true to you, but you forgot in the overwhelming wave of other thoughts in your mind. It also give you confirmation on which thoughts to drop that are not in alignment with who you truly are. Those thoughts do NOT serve you AT ALL but would rather hinder you from clearly hearing God Voice.

Studying about God, SOMETIMES, may help you hear God's Voice ...sometimes. But studying Him ALL THE TIME GUARANTEES you will hear from God ALL THE TIME. Just look at the lives of the masters. Jesus, Buddha, Krishna... spiritual leaders today, Isira, Eckart Tolle, Osho, Byron Katie... all of these people are WELL-VERSED in their respective paths of spiritual study. They are always referencing something that they read in which ever holy scriptures of god they have studied respectively.

This gives you a GLIMPSE of why it is so important to be in consistent study of God.

Don't get me wrong. Reading the Bible or the Bhagavad gita all day doesn't guarantee spiritual enlightenment. Some people memorize these holy texts like the back of their hand, but get NOTHING out of it! It's because they only ponder the ideas, but they don't test them for Truth.

It's like a blind man who has heard thousands of tapes about what it is like to see light... and stops there. Unless you put into practice what you hear and open your eyes, light will always be an idea... a philosophy. But not truth.

Therefore, If you would but allow the words to POINT your mind back to your Highest Truth, THAT will guide you to the spiritual awareness of God within you.

Be open. Open your mind from closed ideas to recieve wisdom from God. Be open and you will recieve from Him.

Godly Counsel

Lastly, but CERTAINLY not least, being in the counsel of MANY other Godly people on the same spiritual path is HIGHLY IMPORTANT.

Not only do they serve as a support group for you in your personal growth, but they serve as a "checks and balances" system for you as you grow.

You see, along our respective spiritual paths, we get to a point where ego steps in and attempts to make us feel in some way 'superior' or 'special' compared to other people... as if OUR wisdom is something NO ONE ELSE has because God has ONLY granted it to us... i.e. "God plays favorites."

Those who believe in this notion are the the cult leaders you hear of who have lead thousands of people into a death by suicide.

God doesn't work this way. If He has something to tell you, He will tell you personally, and will then confirm it to you in your brothers and sisters. Therefore, what He shares with you is not just for you, but it is ALWAYS for EVERYONE ELSE as well! This is where your wise and Godly counsel come in at.

If you have been given information, wisdom or insight from God, TEST IT! SHARE it! See if it works! And where better to test, share and see if what you have recieved than with Godly counsel? They will test what you have recieved through this criteria: Peace, Truth, Love and Joy. All of these terms are synanymous with each other and with the 'nature of God Himself.'
............

All of what comes from God leads to Peace, therefore clarity, a piece of mind. It leads to your eternally silent and peaceful nature within you. Within everyone. Within all things.

It leads to Truth. It cannot be refuted. It is what it is. It needs no defense. The insight, information or wisdom ...speaks for itself. It is something that everyone is already aware of, but have simply forgotten.

Love. It is unconditionally loving. It includes ALL, that is, all people, all sides, the whole.

Joy. Upon recieving this information you are joyful. It brings joy to all. It brings joy to the Universe.

...............

If you have heard from God, it will not only ring true to you, but it will ring true to your Spiritual counselors as well many many other awakened souls.

So, I have explained for you here, the criteria in which you should go about channeling. And in your channelling, you should rememember, all you are channeling is God. That should be your ONLY intention. Because God is All There Is. Anything else, doesnt exist. hehe. Simple as that.

Something else that is important to remember, is that God confirms His voice in an INFINITE amount of ways. Not only through His people, but through a song, a word on the radio, a message on a billboard, a book, an opportunity, through a chance meeting... does God confirm you heard from Him. Trust these signs. It is God communicating with you.

Stay in His presence through following the 3 criteria mentioned above. And without doubt of any kind, you will KNOW you heard from God. Amen.

Being Vegetarian

………………………………
My journey in a nut shell: From Vegetarianism, to Veganism, to Raw Veganism, and back again to Vegetarianism… Where next? Only God knows.
……………………………

Why am I vegetarian?

Many people know why they have become vegetarian. They say it’s because of the poor animals. They say its because of global warming. They say it’s because you can hardly find good and healthy meat these days. They say its to assist them on their spiritual journey.

I have none of these reasons.

Indeed, in the first week of 2008, I practiced vegetarianism for the first time to cleanse my body of toxins for a Reiki attunement. After that, I was turned on to the idea of vegetarianism. It helped with my meditation. I felt all good inside and got itchy sensations in my face whenever I meditated.

But I didn’t turn vegetarian right after that. I wanted to turn vegetarian. And it was pretty easy! Until I past by a McDonalds. Hahahahahahaha. I just HAD to have a cheeseburger happy meal!!! Hahahahahahaha. Yes, I am my mother’s daughter (LOL). It’s her favorite too.

So, for the first 4 months of 2008, I ate vegetarian for a day or so, and then I went back to McDonald’s after a cheeseburger craving… I still remember my toy collection. LOL.

What I expected, after eating McDonalds, is that I’ll be less spiritual and able to connect with the Divine during meditation. This was far from true.

In fact, I was perhaps, MORE connected to the Divine than I was when I ONLY ate vegetarian food during that time. I reached a few scary states during my meditation that required more of my faith than the kind of foods I ate.

My becoming vegetarian came suddenly. There was actually nothing ‘becoming’ about it. There wasn’t a weaning off period, or a ‘veggie burger’ substitute period. I just woke up one day in April that year and decided, “No more meat.”

I threw away all of my meat, all of my dairy products and unknowingly became a vegan.

I just didn’t want meat anymore. I didn’t need substitute for meat, because it was never my intention to substitute meat for fake ‘meat.’ Hahaha. At the time, I didn’t understand why vegetarians I saw at the health food stores ate ‘veggie patties’ if they were so against the killing of animals. Doesn’t eating veggie patties remind you of a cheeseburger? Hahaha. But, everyone has their own life path and perspective of life. Who am I to judge? God? LOL

No. But, ever since I turned vegetarian, more and more of the reasons that supported my choice of being vegetarian started appearing in my everyday life a few weeks down the road. Things I had NEVER been aware of…

Animal abuse, inhumane treatment of them, the MAIN contributing factor of global warming, NOT CARS, but the METHANE that is produced in meat factories, how eating meat keeps you ignorant of such information were some of the things I ‘came across’ after being vegetarian.

Now, as I learned of these things, it was considered ‘interesting information’ to me. It didn’t really give me more of a reason to be ‘proud’ to be vegetarian, nor more of a reason to convince others to become vegetarian. I wasn’t interested.

But what I was interested in, was the new information I ‘stumbled’ upon.

Raw Veganism.

I forget exactly how and when I came across this information, but learning about the benefits of a 100% Raw Vegan diet was the beginning of a major guilt trip I went on from about May or June last year all the way until this about February or March this year.

Basically, Raw Veganism is not only SAID to be the cure of all diseases, but it actually IS. Your body ONLY gets the things it needs when eating only fruits, vegetables, nuts and water. So, as a result, you feel as light as feather after 2 weeks of this diet, and you are perhaps completely healed of any or most infirmities within 30 days of this diet.

The key to this diet is that you can eat ANYTHING as long as it’s raw, vegan and preferably organic.

This is a great diet. It’s an AWESOME diet.

But it plays on the Ego like no other. Hahaha. Believe me, I know.

Osho once said, “Being vegetarian does not make you more spiritual.” This proves to be absolutely true, as I explained my situation earlier. The Raw Vegan diet is no exception. It does, however, allow your body to be sooooo clean, so that you receive higher frequency vibrations from the Divine or from each other (i.e. telepathic and psychic abilities).

What it doesn’t do, however, is teach you how to be humble. Hahahaha. THAT you have to learn on your own. And THAT is my current journey. LOL.

Why do I say humble?

Being Raw Vegan, you will hear a lot of them complain about how the rest of the world doesn’t like to take care of their bodies. I was that way when I was Raw for a short period as well. And I hated myself for it.

I judged everyone for the way they looked, how fat or unhealthy they looked, thinking in my head, “You have control over your body! You don’t have to be sick! If you would only turn Raw, you would be fine!”

I blamed people for their ignorance. And instead of hating them, I hated myself for it. They were not really the ones suffering because of the knowledge I possessed, I was.

And though I tried to share it with them, I could not share it with them without making them and myself feel guilty for being unable to maintain such a demanding diet, that was very different from the cooked diet we are used to.

I realized, the reason I projected guilt onto other people, was because I, myself, didn’t like being on the diet myself. It wasn’t natural. It may have been ‘common sense,’ but it wasn’t natural. It was forced. And because I forced myself on this diet, I suffered guilt and wanted to project it on to anyone and everyone who wasn’t on the same diet I was.

It was a horrible ‘prideful’ feeling. Like, “I’m right, and you’re wrong.”

So, I decided. Before I turn 100% Raw Vegan again, I would humble myself COMPLETELY.

I would understand myself as well as the lives of fellow human beings. And I would love and respect everyone, without exception, just the way they are.

And when I turn Raw Vegan, it will not be because of ‘how good it is’ for the body. But, it will be for the same reason I became vegetarian.

Reasonless. Just because it happened.

Freely and Joyfully.

Foundation of Your Peace

To the Godly folk:

Let me pose for you an interesting question.

Where is your foundation of peace?

Will you remain at peace if I... followed what you told me to do, acted the way you wanted me to act, did as you told for me to do? Would you be secure as long as I followed your IDEA for me?

What if I DIDN'T do as you said, act as you wanted, spoke as you imagined I should? Where THEN is your foundation for peace?

Why should your peace be interrupted by an OUTSIDE influence, such as myself?

If the Kingdom of Heaven is WithIn you, why do you depend on ME for your peace?

If the Kingdom of Heave is WithIn you, why do you get let down, dissapointed and throw a fit when I don't live up to what you expect of me?

If the Kingdom of Heaven is Within you, why do you look to ME for your foundation in peace?

Have you not made ME an idol to be served, to please your OWN ungodly desires?

Absolute peace... is that dependent upon the fleeting nature of the World or is it not in God and His Word, His Promise for us?

Is our peace not in meditating on Him day and night, even in the afternoons and ESPECIALLY in hard times?

Tell me again...

Where is your foundation of peace?
